After The Rise Of The Chainsaw In 1960, The Ax Became Almost Redundant And Granfors Bruks Switched To Small-Scale And High-Quality Productions In 1980. The Ax Heads Are No Longer Sanded, Polished Or Painted To Hide Errors In The Production Process. Each Ax Head Is Struck By Hand And Assembled By Hand. That Is Why At Gransfors Bruks Every Ax Is As Good As Its Blacksmith And That Is Why Every Ax Head Contains The Initials Of The Blacksmith Who Made The Ax.
